The Carefree Crocodiles Swim Team is a recreational program offering children ages 5-17 from the Greenwood and surrounding communities an opportunity to "get their feet wet" with a splash of competitive swimming.  Our team members practice for 1 hour four times a week at the Carefree Club Pool.  Practices start at either 7:00 am or 8:00 am. During practices, our coaching staff provides instruction on proper stroke technique, starts, turns, and other components necessary to compete in meets.  Please note that the Swim Team is NOT a "Learn To Swim" or swim lessons program. If you are interested in such a program, please visit our swim lessons page.  While it's not a requirement for team members to know all the strokes or to have perfect technique, they must be able to swim comfortably in deep water.

    The Swim Team is a member of the Community Swim Conference, and we swim against four other teams from the surrounding Indianapolis area in dual meets.  At the end of the season, a conference meet is held with all five teams participating.  The dual meets, usually 2 to 2 1/2 hours long, are scheduled in the evenings beginning June 20th and the conference meet is scheduled for July 22nd.     Registration forms for the 2006 Summer Season are available at our registration page.  Registration will be limited to returning swimmers until May 3, 2006.  After that, the team will be open to anyone interested.  Also, the team will be limited to 140 swimmers. Who is running the show?
    The Carefree Crocodiles Swim Team is governed by a board of parent volunteers.  The board meets regularly to attend to the needs of the Swim Team and works closely with the volunteer board governing our home pool, Carefree Club, Inc.
